    Hardly! What occurs during an ultrasound is a warmed gel is placed on your skin where the ultrasound will take place. Then a ultrasound wand is rubbed along this gel while images and videos are taken for review.

  • How long does a vascular ultrasound take?

    This depends on the area being scanned. A carotid ultrasound can be quick - 15 minutes. Whereas an exam of your legs can take up to an hour.

  • How do I prepare for my vascular ultrasound?

    Some require your to fast 4-6 hours prior like the abdominal aorta ultrasound. But, most require no prep. We simply ask you wear loose fitting, comfortable cloths.
